The Pindakaas Saxophone Quartet has always been characterized by its refined and elegant tone. Since it was founded in 1990 it has established itself in the classical scene as an inspired ensemble going beyond current trends of chamber music programmes. At the international master class “Chamber Music with Saxophones” in Unna the musicians of the group were awarded the “Culture Prize”.

The ensemble has performed in many well known festivals, i.a. the International Summer Festival in Kuwait, the Dumfries & Galloway Arts Festival in Scotland and the “Pomeriggi Musicali” (German–Italian Culture Week) in Italy. The saxophonists have also given chamber and church concerts in Switzerland, the Netherlands as well as throughout Germany. During this time they also recorded several CDs.

Keeping a humorous air the quartet named itself after the Dutch name of peanut butter “Pindakaas”. Whether it is the aristocratic baroque, elegant classical or electrifying modern music, they always manage to retain the spirit of the music
thanks to their sensitive and up-to-date interpretations.
