Marcin Langer (Soprano-, Alto Saxophone, Flute):

Langer was born in Beuthen (Poland) and started his musical education with flute and saxophone. He studied music at the University of Duisburg (1981-1986) with Professor Ferdinand Bruckmann (piano), Wolfgang Engstfeld (saxophone), and Theo Jörgensmann (saxophone). He now works as a freelance musician and teaches music in Essen. Langer performs in Jazz and classical concerts and is a member of the „Transorient Orchestra“.

Guido Grospietsch (Alto-, Tenor Saxophone):

Grospietsch was born in Duisburg (Germany) and studied music at the University of Duisburg (1988-1992) with Theo Jörgensmann and Remy Filipovitch. His repertoire includes pop, rock, improvisation and classical music. He won the orchestra prize for the project “Journey to the Moon”. He now works as a freelance musician and music teacher in Duisburg.

Matthias Schroeder (Baritone Saxophone, Clarinet):

Schröder was born in Oberhausen (Germany) and started his musical education playing the piano in 1975, followed by clarinet and saxophone lessons. He studied history and publishing at the Universities of Bochum and Muenster and got his PhD in 2000. He performed with various Jazz and classical ensembles and now works as a freelance musician, music journalist and manager of cultural events in Münster.

Anja Heix (Tenor Saxophone):

Heix was born in Essen (Germany), studied saxophone and oboe at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen with Professor Pierre W. Feit and Professor Hugo Read. She passed her graduate recital in 2000.
Heix is now working as a freelance musician in musicals (Starlight Express, Aida, Les Miserables, etc.) and as a member of the theatre orchestras of Essen and Wuppertal as well as the regional theatre in Detmold. She also performs in chamber music especially in the saxophone/piano combination.
